In the beginning was the Mother
Mistress of Infinity
The Great Primordial Cosmic Womb
From which all came to be
And the Sun and the Moon and the Stars She bore
And the Earth in Her beauty
And She in turn gave birth to us
From Her own womb, the Sea
And Her daughters gave birth in likeness
To that Universal Queen
And peace and sweet contentment
At the Mothers breast were seen
Why did so many sons turn from
The One Who makes them whole?
How I grieve for Her betrayal
With all the power in my soul!
Where are now Her gleaming temples?
Where are now Her faithful throngs?
Where are now the myriad joyful voices
Lifted in Her songs?
Now the Mother is held prisoner
To a petty tyrant king
But his crimes shall not be left unsung
While I have breath to sing!
In the beginning was the Mother
Mistress of Infinity
And She is still the Queen of All
That Was and Is To Be
And I pledge my heart and hand to Her
As I raise my voice on high
And Ill see Her throne restored to Her
Or in trying I shall die
Shall die!
